Shri Shivaji Maratha Society
Shri Shivaji Maratha Society was established in June 1918, under the strong guidance of His Highness Chatrapati Shri Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur sansthan. The society was established at Pune in memory of the great Maratha king Chatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj who spent his childhood in and around Pune. The society is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. The qualitative development of the society happened as a result of a number of great personalities in cooperation with the Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune Zilla Perishad and a number of social workers and donors. The society is blessed with endeavors of great personalities like Late Shri. Shrimant Khasesaheb Maharaj of Devas, Karmveer Bhausaheb Hire, Baburao Gholap, Deshbhakta Keshavrao Jedhe, Baburao Sanas, Bhaskarrao Jadhav, Raobahadoor Thube, Sakharamji Jedhe, Rambhau Khese, Keshavrao Dhere, Ganpatrao Shedge to mention a few for the development of the society.
The society runs three high schools, English Medium School, three junior and degree colleges, D. Ed; B.Ed; M.Ed. colleges, two colleges for Vocational Courses, Law College and a Management Institute. Architecture College is the latest addition to the list of institutes of the society. Today society runs more than 20 schools and colleges under its umbrella, in which more than 20,000 students are pursuing education from pre-primary to post graduate level.
